This is my second trip to Venice, and it’s still my favorite city in the world.
- What I think of as side canals in Venice are actually called “rivers”.
- A restauranteur prepares tables in St. Mark’s Square. The Basilica looms in the background.
- A couple watches the goings-on outside the Doge’s Palace
- A gondolier takes a break for a cell phone call.
- Nice light on houses along a river.
- Looking north from the top of the Campanile. In the distance, the island with walls all around the outside is Cimitaro, the cemetery island, and beyond that is Murano.
- A 19th century gilded mosaic (The Last Judgment) on St. Mark’s Basilica.
- The front door to our apartment in Venice.
- In a 15-second exposure, a vaporetto (water bus) transits under the Rialto Bridge.
- In a 13-second exposure from the Rialto Bridge, another vaporetto goes underneath.
